Hello, I'm Liz.

Before I went into higher education, I spend a decade and a half traveling the world, mentoring students in serve-abroad programs and supporting local nonprofit initiatives—from educational programs to churches, and orphanages to humanitarian relief organizations. My international and cross-cultural experiences—and time spent off the beaten track more generally—have helped to make me a creative, empathetic, and engaging educator.
When left to myself, I read classic mysteries (think Agatha Christie and Dororthy Sayers), go thrift shopping, bake sourdough bread, or meet friends. I have an abiding love of the beach, toast, and Cherry Coke. I aspire to have a cat.
